Taking care of you!

Once we become wives and especially mothers, we start to forget about ourselves! Nowadays most of us work, have to take care of the kids, the house, the food and everything around it. And I know that our husbands too have stepped up and are more supportive than ever but we still find that these responsibilities most of the time fall on us.

This is why it’s more important than ever to look after ourselves. We are the ones who keep the love and the family united and make sure that everyone is okay, so it’s important that we do the same for ourselves.

Here are some simple daily tips that don’t require so much time and effort:

🌱 Body Care

  • Drink water first thing in the morning (before coffee!) to help with energy.
  • Stretch for 2–3 minutes when you get out of bed — even a quick roll of shoulders and neck.
  • Short walks with the buggy or baby carrier give you light exercise and fresh air.

🧠 Mind Care

  • Micro-moments of calm: pause to breathe slowly for 60 seconds while baby naps or plays.
  • Write down 3 wins (no matter how small) at the end of the day — e.g., “I got everyone fed,” “I made myself laugh.”
  • Limit doom-scrolling and swap for a podcast or uplifting playlist.

💬 Social & Emotional Care

  • Stay connected: text or voice note a friend — even if you can’t meet up, a quick check-in helps you feel less isolated.
  • Ask for help early (partner, friend, family, childcare swap) — don’t wait until you’re completely drained.
  • Celebrate tiny victories: managing bedtime solo, cooking a meal, or just surviving a rough night. I know they might feel like small wins, but they are still wins 😉

🏡 Environment Care

  • Create one small “calm corner” at home (a comfy chair, candle, or blanket) to sit with a warm cup of tea for 5 minutes.
  • Declutter just one surface a day — a clear spot can lift your mood more than you’d expect.

💖 Heart Care

  • Speak kindly to yourself — the way you’d speak to a loved friend.
  • Remember: meeting your own needs isn’t selfish; it models healthy habits for your children.

Finally, what is important is for you to feel like your own cup is full, before you fill that of others. This will help you feel more fulfilled and your loved ones will receive the best version of you. ❤️
